VA: Women offering prostitution services on craigslist caught in undercover sting

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY.com) — Five women from Hampton Roads have been caught up in an online sting conducted by the Suffolk Police Department, and they can thank craigslist for their predicament.

Suffolk Police tell WAVY.com that over the weekend, they conducted an undercover sting operation targeting prostitutes offering their services over the popular Internet listing service some say offers anything imaginable.

Police say an officer set himself up in an apartment and contacted women using craigsList. He looked them up online, called them on the phone, and set up a rendezvous.

The sting netted five women from across the area. Three have been charged, and two others have charges pending.

Charged are:

26-year-old Jennifer Ely (pictured) of Pleasant Run in Virginia Beach. She’s been charged with prostitution and possession of cocaine.

31-year-old Jennifer Ann Blackwell of 12th Bay Street in Norfolk. She’s been charged with prostitution and possession of marijuana.

21-year-old Breanna Liggett of Mains Creek Road in Chesapeake. She’s been charged with prostitution and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. POlice say she brought her 17-year-old sister with her, and offered a “two girl show”.

Charges against two other women are pending.
