FL: Craig’s List ad leads to prostitution bust

NEW PORT RICHEY — It’s a new twist on what some call the world’s oldest profession.

Four women face prostitution charges in Pasco County after investigators say they advertised their services on Craig’s List.

Detectives say the women were advertising for massages.

“They wound up being charged with prostitution,” said Pasco Sheriff Bob White.

Arrest reports say undercover officers asked the women to come to a Port Richey hotel.  There, they did indeed perform massages, but the reports say the women then offered sex, in some cases for up to $350.00.

The Sheriff says in the digital age, advertising has become a whole new aspect of prostitution.

The arrests were not part of a specific prostitution sting, but members of the Vice Narcotics unit noticed that each woman offering massages did not have the state required license.

Charged with prostitution are 38-year-old Jolyn Steier, 35-year-old Angel Stebelton, 25-year-old Kimberly Jimino and 20-year-old Shawana Lee. Steier and Stebelton also face drug related charges.
