TACOMA, Wash. – An Army sergeant stationed at Fort Lewis now faces federal charges of pimping teen prostitutes.

Sgt. Sterling Terrance Hospedales, 26, is charged with child sex trafficking and attempted child sex trafficking.

Hospedales was arrested on April 14 and has been held in the Pierce County Jail on charges of promoting prostitution. Charging papers indicated the girls were 16 and 17-years-old.

The arrest was made after police found ads for the girls on Craigslist. Records showed the girls were listed as missing persons.

The girls said Hospedales had them host their dates on an air mattress in the living room of his Lakewood apartment, according to court documents. They say he kept the money they earned from the dates and that he knew they were underage.

Court documents say one of the girls was flown to Washington from Wyoming and that Hospedales threatened to kick her out and have her beat up if she did not pay him back for the ticket by being a prostitute.

If convicted on the federal charges, Hospedales could spend the rest of his life in prison.
