Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Louisville man is facing charges of loitering in prostitution and impersonating a police officer.

Police say 37-year-old Charles Hart was arrested while undercover detectives were working a prostitution detail at Fourth and Iowa streets.

Police say Hart pulled up in a unmarked police car with lights and siren on while another person was trying to solicit from the undercover detective.

Hart scared that person off and police say he then tried to pick up the undercover officer.

Police later realized he wasn’t a real officer.

Police say Hart was an LMPD officer for three weeks and had an LMPD I.D. on him at the time.
