LAS VEGAS – A high-end home turned brothel is the talk of Red Scott Circle.

“They had a red light on in the back, pretty much at late hours,” said neighbor Partap Khalsa. “It was definitely, ‘We’re in business.'”

That business, and the money it generated, may have led to the murder of Young Shil Park. Last month, hikers found the 39-year-old’s charred body in Arizona near Hoover Dam.

Metro Police say 30-year-old Min Soon Chang and 19-year-old Keon Kyun Park confessed to Young Shil Park’s murder. Police say the men beat her to death, then burned and dumped her body. Keon Kyun Park is not related to the victim.

Police say Park ran an escort service out of the home on Red Scott Circle near South Tenaya Way and West Desert Inn Road. Both men worked for her. Court documents reveal Park owed the men $9,000.

Some neighbors suspected the house was an illegal brothel. “They didn’t really come out, but there was a lot of traffic,” said Khalsa. “A lot of random cars would pull up to their house.”

Park’s ex-boyfriend, who wished to remain anonymous, says the bordello was known as “Pink Place” and entertained well-screened clients.

“Just an incredible shock,” he said. “I still haven’t come to grips with it completely.”

He says the cathouse became extremely profitable. He believes money motivated the two suspects to kill Park. “At the time of her death, December 2010, it was doing more successful than any point before,” he said.

Meanwhile, neighbors remain in disbelief. “I would not expect that in this neighborhood at all,” Khalsa said.

The suspects are scheduled for arraignment Wednesday morning.
